How did Feminist Cocktail Hour start?
At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, we were all scared and bored--or at least, Jacey was. She decided to shake things up (literally), by sharing the stories of strong, inspiring women and giving her friends what they needed most: a cocktail.
Who is Jacey Powers and what does she know about feminists and/or cocktails?
Jacey Powers is an actress and writer as well being a long-time feminist and woman. She is a graduate of New York University where she majored in musical theater and minored in gender studies (and cocktails... unofficially). She has more than a decade of experience as an event planner in New York City and has spent years slinging drinks and jokes in bars and comedy clubs across the city.
What is the difference between the Feminist Cocktail Hour series and Feminist Cocktail Hour events?
The difference between our events and the series is like the difference between watching the Food Network and taking a cooking class--they're both fun and satisfying in totally different ways. Our events are tailor made for each individual group and setting. They are apolitical, free of salty language, and appropriate for any corporate environment or grandma who you invited to your baby shower. Events are also 100% interactive, so guests can ask questions and will get the benefit of not only hearing the story of a remarkable woman, but also learning some more involved cocktail making techniques. For more information, you can email us at FeministCocktailHour@gmail.com.
How do I book a Feminist Cocktail Hour event? What are your rates?
All our events are bespoke, so rates vary. To inquire about booking you can call us at 646.801.7238 or email FeministCocktailHour@gmail.com.
